NOTICE FROM THE TURNPIKE AUTHORITY REGARDING THE TURNPIKE OVERPASS ON PGA BLVD:
Construction is scheduled to begin this week on a project that will replace the Florida’s Turnpike ramp bridge at the PGA Boulevard Interchange (Exit 109) with a higher bridge that will provide additional clearance for tall vehicles.
The project also includes ramp realignment work, milling and resurfacing, signing and pavement markings, drainage and lighting.
The work will require frequent nighttime lane closures, ramp closures and detours Sunday through Thursday throughout the duration of the project. Occasionally, all Turnpike lanes will be closed overnight.
Motorists may find one Turnpike lane closed in each direction, north and south of PGA Boulevard, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning tonight and continuing through Thursday night.
The $6.2 million project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2013.
