Within the past few weeks, I have had the chance to partake in one of the most enjoyable parts of my job and that is to make acquaintances with residents, old and new. In doing so, I’ve learned that there is a misconception when it comes to the understanding what services Wackenhut provides here in PGA National.
Customer service and code enforcement are major parts of the many services we provide on a day-to-day basis. We are working diligently everyday to give you, the residents of PGA National, optimal service. We have increased our services with such things as the Car Smart Program. This year we have added a Flex Patrol officer, to be utilized on any day and time. With the addition of this extra patrol officer we are not only able to increase the number of property checks performed, but also increase the frequency of patrols in your community.
The following stat totals were generated between July 1st and August 31, 2010.
- CALLS FOR SERVCE: 1,174
- OPEN GARAGE DOORS: 382
- PARKING VIOLATIONS: 443
- TRASH VIOLATIONS: 291
(*Calls for Service are resident/residence-generated calls such as Alarms, Complaints, Fire Rescue Calls, and Suspicious Person etc..)
Criminals who burglarize homes are looking for an easy target: the majority of burglaries occurring during the daytime while you are away. They are looking for a home that they can break into quickly, remove something of value that is easily transported and leave without detection. Open garage doors or trash cans left out may give the appearance that a home in unoccupied and is an easy target.
In these economic woes, criminals are becoming more brazen in the criminal acts they commit. Wackenhut and the POA office are working effortlessly to protect PGA National and its residents. Along with your help, we can decrease the amount of crime in PGA National. Remember to set your alarm when you leave your home and make sure that all doors and windows are secure. Never leave valuables in your vehicle. Report all suspicious persons and activity to security at 627-1600.
