I would like to take a moment to offer a friendly reminder for your security and safety. At the end of 2015 PGA National experienced thirty-one auto burglaries. This is twice as much as 2014 which had fifteen and over five times as much as 2013 with six. Now, just two months into 2016, we have already experienced nine auto burglaries, all of which were the result of the vehicles being left unsecured. Unsecured vehicles give the criminals the idea that PGA National is an easy target and they can return as often as they choose.
Through my experience, culminated with the partnership with Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, I believe the most effective way to prevent from becoming the next victim and/or a target for an auto burglary is simply to lock and secure your vehicle. It is only with your assistance that we can reduce these incidents from happening in the future as well as deter all criminal activity within PGA National.
Remember to always secure your vehicle when not in use and never leave valuables in your vehicle in plain sight. Always secure your home and set your alarm before leaving. You are always encouraged to report all suspicious vehicles, person(s), and activity and never hesitate to call security at 627-1600. Any information on the person(s) involved or vehicle description will be helpful.
