We are nearly half way done with 2014 already and I would like to take a brief moment to give you a review of the year thus far. We seem to be on pace for another year of overall crime reduction within PGA National. This being said it has been a busy year in security already.
So far this year PGA National has experienced two Residential burglaries, two Auto burglaries, and one reported theft. Security has issued over 850 Parking violations, 1,350 Open Garage Door violations, and nearly 700 Trash violations. We have also conducted 226 Foot Patrols within the communities of PGA National along with 300 Car Smart checks. If this is indicative of what the rest of the year has remaining for us we are on track for another record setting year in security.
Our success in security is not ours alone. It is dependent on the support we receive from you, the residents of PGA National. This support comes in various ways from things as simple as securing your vehicle to deter potential auto burglaries to reporting suspicious vehicles or persons you may see. Another area that you can assist security in is to assure that your information is up to date in the gate access (ABDI) system. The lack of information in the ABDI system requires patrol officers to be pulled from patrolling the communities to perform Entry Escorts.
Security has conducted nearly 200 Entry Escorts so far this year. Your cooperation and vigilance is always appreciated.
As a reminder, remember to secure your vehicle when not in use and set your home alarm before leaving. You can also acquire a Property Check form from any of the security gatehouses, the POA office or by visiting www.gateaccess.net.
You are always encouraged to report all suspicious vehicles, person(s), and activity and never hesitate to call security at 627-1600. Any information on the person(s) involved or vehicle description will be helpful.
