As you are aware, access control into PGA National goes into effect each night at 9:00 PM and continues until 6:00 AM the next morning. During that time only resident and guests of residents are allowed into the community. Three communities, Eagleton, Preston and the Island have enhanced security that is in effect 24/7/365 throughout the year.
The Allied-Universal guards at all gates are charged with verifying all visitors wanting to come into the community and logging their entry into the ABDI Access Control System.
A new update to the ABDI system allows you to receive a text message whenever one of your guests is given access by the gate officer. Residents desiring to use this text-alert system must first have their cell phone number registered into the system.
You can opt-in for this service via computer at www.gateaccess.net (under the Contact Info tab). And of course, you can also opt-out of the text messaging service at the same website. If you do not know your access code or password, you will need to go to the PGA-POA office with your photo identification. You should also consider downloading the ABDI App for your smartphone (either iPhone or Android) at the respective online App store.
While you are opting-in or opting-out of the text messaging service, it would be a good time to review and cull your visitor list. Remove those who you no longer want to have access and add those who you do. You should also verify your other information in the system, especially your vehicle license plate numbers.
Remember, access control is only as good as the data in the access-control system. Having a few dozen repair vendors, pizza delivery companies or former house cleaners on your access list puts everyone at risk.
And most important – IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!! Call the Palm Beach Gardens Police (561) 799-4445 or PGA Security (561) 627-1600 and let them investigate. Of course, if it is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
